When is the Virtual Redbourn Fun Run taking place?
Sunday, May 23rd. We will ask all participants to complete their run by 5pm on Sunday 23rd May.
Where do I run?
We are asking you to pick your own route. Please be mindful of avoiding private land and please take care when crossing roads
Will there be any road closures or marshals in Redbourn?
No. We ask you to take extreme care when crossing roads and this is at your own risk
Is there a charge to enter?
Yes, there is a nominal fee which will be donated to the Redbourn Primary School. The fee is £3.00 for a child’s entry (under 16 years) and £6 for an adult’s entry (the same fee in all races). There is a very small service fee for each entry, for the online registration.
Can I run in a group?
Yes, if the government guidelines allows. We would encourage to run in a group of up to 6 people (or more if all from the same household), if the rule of 6 for outdoor exercise participation stands.
Do I have to run with my child?
Yes, we would advise to run with any child under the age of 16 years.
How do I record and submit my time?
Unfortunately we won’t be able to chip time your event, but YOU can! We will then be asking you to submit your time or a photo to prove you have completed the event. (More details about this process will follow). We will collate all the times and be running a leader board for those more competitive participants!
What will I receive after my run/jog/walk?
We will rewarding every participant with a virtual RFR bespoke memento. If you are local and submit your run result on the day, we will award you the memento at the race headquarters. For those further afield (or if we are unable to host a race headquarters) we are happy to post!
*Will there be prizes for winners?
There will be plenty of prizes offered throughout the day as we will be encouraging as much participation as possible
Is there a fancy dress theme?
Our virtual RFR theme is Rainbows. So, we encourage you to dress up in as many colours as possible. Rewards for the brightest outfits! Please do take photos and share with us.
*Do I have to run?
We are encouraging as many to enter as possible, so walking, jogging, running are all allowed!
Will there be a photographer?
No official photographer. Please do take photos of your friends and families throughout the day and send them to us. We would love to share them with the Redbourn Community (we will let you know how you can send us photos)
Where will the Race Headquarters be located?
This will depend on the covid-19 situation at the time of the event and we will only operate within government guidelines. We are really hopeful to set up at a central location in Redbourn so we can cheer you if running nearby, check in your result and award your virtual RFR memento
We will be in touch with all the entrants at least 1 week before the event with the finer details of how the virtual event can be hosted.
I had entered already for the event that had been due to take place in May 2020. Can I use this entry for the virtual event?
No. Your May 2020 place will automatically be deferred to May 2022. This virtual event is a different event, with different price structuring. The entry fees are much less than for the actual event which due to be hosted in Spring 2022.
